Qualified Opticians in Northwood & Rickmansworth
As qualified opticians, we’ve been part of Northwood’s community for more than 60 years. The business was started by Mr Lamerton and Mr Stubbs at 65a Green Lane in Northwood, just after the end of the Second World War.
Over time, the business changed hands several times, but we’ve always kept our Lamertons’ name. In 1992 Alison Kennedy took over the business and it’s been owned by the Kennedy family ever since. Alison developed and managed the business with assistance from Richard, who is now our managing director.
In 1994, we expanded into the adjoining premises at 65b Green Lane; it’s been our base ever since and we’ve continually expanded and developed the practice to become one of the area’s outstanding opticians practices.
At the start of 2010, we grew further, when Richard purchased Forrest Opticians in Rickmansworth. Located in the High Street for more than 20 years, Forrest Opticians shared many of our values and was a trusted and well regarded business. After a major refurbishment and fully equipped with the latest diagnostic technology, the practice changed its name to Lamertons in 2016.
Whilst there have been changes in Northwood and Rickmansworth over the years, our commitment has always been to provide an outstanding and highly personal service.
Many of our original customers still come regularly to our Northwood practice: many now bringing their own children (and grandchildren) too. Whether you’re a long-standing customer or you’re looking to visit us for the very first time, we look forward to seeing you.
